What is a DNS Leak?

When you type a website address like "google.com" into your browser, your device needs to translate that name into an IP address. This translation is done by DNS (Domain Name System) servers.

A DNS leak occurs when your DNS requests are sent outside your VPN tunnel, exposing the websites you visit to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or other third parties, even though the rest of your traffic is encrypted.
